PDF EDITOR / WORKSPACE

Edit PDF text and layers.

For functional testing. Object-only moves preserve PDF structure; visual edits use a hybrid export that keeps the source searchable text layer. Test PDFs include a visible label, and existing digital signatures are not preserved.

Real editing controls

What you can change in the PDF editor.

The editor separates source text, structural objects, and added overlays so each kind of change uses an appropriate export path.

  1. 01

    Edit selectable PDF text

Click a detected text block, type the replacement, and keep the original position, size, color, and line grouping as the starting point.

  2. 02

    Move independent PDF objects

When the file contains a movable annotation or appearance object, reposition it without cutting away text or table lines underneath.

  3. 03

Add text, images, and cover areas

Place a new text layer, add a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image, or cover a selected rectangle before adding replacement content.

  4. 04

    Extract a transparent color layer

Select a single-color mark and remove its white or neutral background so overlapping content remains visible after the layer moves.

  5. 05

    Export an edited test copy

Object-only moves preserve searchable PDF structure. Other edits use a high-resolution hybrid export that retains the source searchable text layer and adds an EDITED TEST COPY label.

Three steps

How to use a free online PDF editor no sign up.

The workflow stays out of the way: upload, make one precise change, then review the exported copy.

  1. 01

    Upload your PDF

Choose one PDF up to 20 MB. The editor opens the document in the browser and shows the first page.

  2. 02

    Select the right edit mode

Use Edit Original Text for detected text, Object Layers for independent objects, or the add and cover tools for new content.

  3. 03

    Review and download

Check the edited page at normal size, then export a test PDF. Existing digital signatures are not preserved.

Focused jobs

When this PDF editor is useful.

Choose the least destructive editing method that fits the source document and the review copy you need.

  1. 01

    Correct a figure in a text-based PDF

Use Edit Source Text when a statement, invoice, form, or internal draft contains selectable text that needs a small correction. The editor begins with the source geometry, so the replacement can be reviewed in context instead of recreated on a blank page.

  2. 02

    Reposition an independent object

Use Object Layers when a PDF annotation or appearance object needs to move while the text and table lines underneath remain intact. This is the cleanest path because it changes object coordinates instead of capturing a rectangular screenshot.

  3. 03

Create a clearly marked review copy

Use cover, text, image, or transparent extraction tools for a visual mockup that colleagues can inspect. Raster edits are flattened as the visible top layer while the source searchable text layer remains underneath, and the output carries a visible test-copy label.

Questions before editing

PDF editor FAQs.

Clear limits matter when the file contains tables, scanned pages, annotations, or an existing digital signature.

Is this a free online PDF editor no sign up?

Yes. The current PDF editing workspace opens without account creation. It is a testing tool, and edited PDF downloads are clearly marked as test copies.

Can I directly replace text in a PDF?

Yes when the PDF contains a selectable text layer. Click Edit Original Text, choose a detected block, and type the replacement. Scanned image-only PDFs are not OCR-enabled yet.

Will replacement text keep the same size?

The editor starts with the source text size, line height, width scale, color, and position. You can adjust the font-size control when a different-length replacement needs refinement.

Can multi-line table text be edited as one block?

Nearby lines in the same column are grouped when their geometry indicates one text block. The inspector then edits the grouped lines together.

Can I move a stamp or image without hiding text below it?

Yes when it is an independent PDF object. For page pixels, use the transparent single-color extraction mode so the neutral background does not cover overlapping content.

Does the editor preserve the original PDF structure?

Object-only position changes keep searchable text, tables, and vector content. Cover blocks, replacement text, screenshots, or added images use a hybrid export: the visible result is flattened while the source searchable text layer is retained.

Can I export the PDF to Word after editing?

The workspace can convert the uploaded source PDF to DOCX. Current page overlays are not written into that DOCX yet, so export the edited PDF separately when those changes matter.

What happens to a signed PDF?

Any edited or converted copy should be treated as a new document. The original bank or document signature is not preserved as a valid digital signature.

Editing or converting a signed document creates a new copy and invalidates the original signature context. Keep the source PDF unchanged for verification.
