The tool uses local OCR to locate each line and estimate its bounds. When you replace a line, it samples the nearby background, keeps the measured text height and color, and uses the closest font available in your browser.
This lightweight method avoids a generative AI request, so detection is private and repeat edits do not create model costs. Flat backgrounds and sharp screenshots produce the most reliable match.

Font size and color are estimated from pixels. The original font name is used when OCR can detect it and the font exists on your device. Otherwise, the browser selects a close local fallback.
Text wrapped around a curve, heavy perspective, gradients, texture, and shadows can reveal the sampled background patch. Those images need a full inpainting workflow.

How do I change text in an image?

Does the tool keep the original font and size?
It estimates the original size, color, and background, then uses the closest font available in your browser. An exact match depends on whether the original font is installed.
Can I replace text in a screenshot?
Yes. Screenshots, interface labels, menus, receipts, and flat graphic layouts usually give the cleanest result because their backgrounds are consistent.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Text recognition, editing, and export run in your browser. The image is not sent to a generative AI API.
Why does text on a photo look less exact?
A photograph can contain texture, shadows, perspective, or curved lettering. The local tool samples nearby pixels, so complex surfaces can need a full photo editor for a seamless repair.
